AT THE FOREFRONT
Our work in the emerging disciplines of precision medicine and bioinformatics utilizes a wide array of computational tools designed to extract valuable information contained within genomic data. Bioinformatics is the engine that runs precision medicine; the output from these bioinformatic analyses reveals unique DNA, RNA, and/or protein sequences that becomes the signature target for novel diagnostic tests. Eagle Global Scientific (EGS) supports research in the application of genetics, genomics, and multi-omics to understand, diagnose and treat diseases, bridging the basic science and clinical research communities.
DOD PRECISION MEDICINE SUPPORT
EGS provides Clinical Research Molecular Bioinformatics support to the services in support of the Air Force Medical Service (AFMS) Enterprise, the USAF 59th Science & Technology Wing, and the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research (USAISR). Our partnership advances therapeutic developments through big data analysis and precision medicine. We provide human variant, transcriptomic, methylomic, and metagenomic profiling and analysis for Principle Investigators (PI) whose scientific questions rely Whole Genome Comparisons and modern Molecular Biology.
Our work involves the performance of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), Pyrosequencing, and Sanger Sequencing. EGS data scientists develop algorithms for the analysis of large NGS datasets; establish and maintain local and cloud-based databases for housing data and metadata related to NGS projects in accordance with applicable DOD guidelines; and help the PIs generate value from these large biomedical datasets by managing, analyzing, integrating, interpreting, and reporting to create informed, sound, and actionable insights.
CDC BIOINFORMATICS SUPPORT
EGS supports the CDC’s Office of Advanced Molecular Detection, the Division of Foodborne, Waterborne, and Environmental Diseases (DFWED), and the National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases (NCEZID) in their mission to bring advanced technologies, including next-generation sequencing and bioinformatics, into the US public health system in order to more effectively prevent and respond to important public health threats. Our bioinformatics Subject Matter Experts support the CDC and assist with the generation of value from whole-genome sequences of infectious disease agents (i.e., pathogenic viruses, bacteria, fungi, and parasitic organisms). EGS scientists manage, analyze, and integrate large datasets and interpret complex results in plain language to Public Health Officials to facilitate the creation of informed and sound decisions to protect our nation and our global partners.
